I've officially switched to the happy-eating diet. This means, I'll become physically stronger and FATTER(sobx).
Anyways I hardly had time nowadays. Last weekend had TRM Service Camp, it was freaking awesome! Wayyyyyyyy better than what I had last year. This time we, as facilitators were dam enthu and helped bring the hype into the students. But actually the year 1s also very energetic and enthu already, we're just there to multiply whatever they got! It was about the same thing as last year, same trainer - Jeffrey. However the changes were that instead of lecture-styles, the learning stuff mostly changed to interactive activities within the group. Also, we as facilitators had slightly more time to bond with our group though still not very close.
Come to think about me being 'different' in society, I think I found my answer to the gap. Putting things bluntly, Singapore's sporting spirit just sucks. For example, in sports, we Singaporeans only support the people we know(as in, either friends or same country). We don't really support professionalism. Like just because a Singaporean/person from my class goes up to the stage and we clap together. Then a non-singaporean/someone from other class goes up to the stage and we don't clap. That's totally not a sportsman at all. I'm trying hard to become more like a true sportsman.
Next, I have a really fast-paced lifestyle. I don't think I can be much of a gentlemen. I like to maximize time(and minimize wastage). Actually I like to do calculations to get optimal benefits be it time, money, food, etc. One very easy example to use would be gaming.
In games, we have something called DPS - Damage Per Second. It means the amount of damage you deal to your enemy/opponent for every 1 second of time. Sounds simple right?
Its all about the right combination of Damage and Attack Speed. Like, a Damage of 500 over an Attack Speed of 5seconds per hit = 100 DPS
So, in this case, since the damage is substantially high already, we should increase the attack speed to MAXIMISE DPS. So if we increase the attack speed to a faster speed of 1 second per hit, DPS would become 500.
In life, there are too many mixtures and combinations of various factors that even my fingers couldn't count. But still, estimations and assumptions are the way to go! I like to maximize time in the sense that, while waiting for my eggs to cook in the morning (for 9minutes), I'll check Social Media and emails etc on my laptop for 8minutes. Then 1 minute I'll leave my comp to shut down while I on the heater and get back to my eggs.
In short, I think the term for maximizing time for optimal benefits is - Multitasking EFFICIENTLY.
I believe most of us likes to multitask. But sometimes we might be doing it inefficiently or its because their lifestyle is slower so they think its okay. I have a fast-paced lifestyle and I like to transit into other daily activities smoothly and effectively. Still I can't blame others due to human factors such as laziness and procrastination. That is precisely why I only blame myself and for that, the solution would be to rush people. "GOGOGO" "Cmon, Lets go! Lets go!" I've to say these phrase almost daily to encourage people to be faster. I don't know about others but I guess with this comparison, I think I have a high sense of urgency.
Lastly, I'm trying real hard to become a scholar. I really wanna score and do well in my year 2 semester. I wanna prove to April Ng that its not a wrong choice to choose me for OIP. I wanna get that $50 for each 'A' I get by my parents. I also dream to even be the top scorer so that I'll get another $50 from NP and even be on the director's list. Many dreams, much aspirations, little time and motivated. I'm losing hope but all's not lost yet.
Speaking of Gentlemen, Scholar and Sportsman. These are the Marist values that has never really left me since I became an alumni of Maris Stella High School. The ranking is Gentlemen first, Scholar next and lastly a Sportsman. However, my personality is just the opposite. Honestly, I don't think I'm a friendly(gentlemen) person. But I can say that I am pretty optimistic, I think I have a high EQ and maybe IQ(scholar) at times. The best thing about me is that I'm very supportive of other people's goals, aspirations and professionalism(sportsman).
Therefore, once a Marist, always a Marist. Okay, gotta get back to studying already! Topic 3 of ACF LETS GOOOOOOOOOO!
