Drawing nearer to the deadlines of projects, its are stressing me out. I'm so stress I've lost much of my hair! Lol JK I just cut it this evening to super short. But still, lately, I've been having sleepless nights, waking up a few times in the middle of the night for the past week. Today's concentration levels are like 60% for me. The effects of stress have taken its toll. Not to mentioned I caught a cold this week. So many people are getting sick, like that I also kena liao lor
Anyway for projects, I'm glad that there's Jaslyn and Ni Wen to tank for Bcomm this time round. If I didn't had so much commitments here and there, I sure tank everything. I like to tank coz I also very kiasu, always check this and that with tutors/project brief to ensure that everything's inside. I am a very simple-minded person, in a project all the skills needed are: Creativity, Singaporean(kiasu, cross check objectives and check feasibility. Most importantly, consult tutor), Initiator, and a person with good English skills. It can be one person with all these skills, or all these skills distributed to even ten people. As long as a project group has each of these skills, it is sufficient to get an A.
But yknow, there are always lazy people who give finishes work incompletely. Finish = no more work to do. Complete = do it with every criteria met. That's where the initiator comes in the S1 Telling style! Heh, didn't let my BMGT efforts go to waste.
Overall I'm quite satisfied with this sem's grouping. In ACF, I even have a 'bonus' member. Coz in TR03 ACF module, there's one extra person whom I think needed to repeat the module so he join the class. His name is Kenneth. I'm made this foresight from the very start, he'll be the 'bonus' member. So if there's any sai kang, like proof reading, can go ask him do. But seriously, from the start of the project until now I haven't give him anything to do yet. I'm giving him a free ride which I have planned from the start. But still.. I should use him to my advantage. I know! I'll make him triple-check the computations of our ratios, making sure that they're all correct!
The truth is, in a big group, one can delegate all the work needed to be done and then slack. Because its such a big group, the other members would be doing 'small' parts of the project progressively. So they will feel like they haven't done much at all. While the one delegating the work would seem to do a lot of work as after compilation, the report would look 'big' after all these 'small' parts come together. This is one scheme I've yet to execute as it goes against my moral principles. But if I'm truly in a rush, it would be considered.
Recently I've been reading about an article that says more and more companies are reaching towards a flat hierarchy management. I think its great. Flat hierarchy management means members initiate the projects. If they never initiate means the project is not worth doing. Also, the pay is set by voting who do you think has created the most value in the company. Voting by peers for your pay is such a cool system. If you wish to fire/hire a person in the company, they must also form a group to accept/reject the person together as a group. Flattening the management system can reduce many communication in between management and can get things done more efficiently.
FINALLY SOMETHING TO LIGHTEN MY LOAD FROM e2i CLUB:
New announcement:
- All Chiefs will now report directly to the Secretary. Secretary will process all department information and must manage the Chiefs. She will then report the updates to Director (Internal Affairs). HR Manager will also assist all secretarial work.
Joined BAS Group 8 for BAOW' 13! The LOFR girls went to join some other group. Its kinda good this way given the current situation. Maybe one day I'll blog about my perspective on what's happening to the group.
Its getting late, Haven't done my tutorials. Haven't receive ACF from YB. Yet to receive Bcomm from Jaslyn and Niwen. Waiting for Andy and Marcus to decorate Industry digest.
Oh, and this Wednesday its gonna be nice! like. good, unexpected and probably would even shock Jared regarding our Industry Digest. By far the most fun project so far this sem. At the same time, accounting for the highest marks given by peers, 5% and lowest marks given by a tutor, 5%.
