YQ, Shaun and I headed over to Sakae Sushi outside ourspace right after our TLAW common test. We were so enthusiastic about it(first time going to NP's SS) but we found out that the buffet wasn't available on weekends.. A trip to Scape for SS buffet was decided because we WILL NOT ruin our celebration meal!
In the midst of traveling there on the bus, we were already hungry. We alighted at the wrong stop, had to walk for about 20 minutes to reach Scape's SS. Being hungry, we were super happy to finally find the place and it actually was quite empty!
The part-timer told us that they will stop serving at 2pm (we were that at 1:35pm). We turned our backs to leave until I remembered the sign there says "1130-230pm" so we went back and questioned the guy. The part-timer turned to a more experienced colleague and we were explained that 2pm is their last order for the buffet set while we are still able to dine and take plates from the conveyor belt. Having made the long trip, we decided to faster order within the 25min time frame.
Eat, eat eat, we actually eat until quite shiok. Then the orders came pretty slowly, so we keep ordering more, until we cannot each finish and had leftovers. The 3 of us were like.. "GG le sure charge us". I suddenly remembered TLAW's exclusion clause - ICN. We never see any charge for leftovers, so we boldly asked for the bill despite having '20 plates' of leftovers.
Of course, they wanted to charge us for the wastage of food. Shaun and YQ couldn't bear to argue back so I asked them to show where are the EC that says wastage of food is chargeable. During the course of asking of the bill, more of the colleagues joined in crowd to listen. One girl went to the phone and tried to call someone asking for the EC while another girl went outside to the signboards and look up and down for it. "HAHAHAHAA" my mind thought. Then one of them suddenly took a brochure and found it in super small fine print. My mind was like.. DAMMIT! SIAN KA LAO SAI!
Shaun must have overlooked the super small fine prints and thought there was no EC on it. In the end, the 3 of us paid $117 for that buffet. They did ask us whether we wanted to take away or not. The real question is... will they still charge us for wastage of food if we asked for dapao first?
Then suddenly I remember the Sakae Sushi employees must be willing to eat the food they serve. AIYA, should have done that sia! too late alr, $117 so painful!
