First Day of Work

I slept for about, 5 hours I think, got to bed at about 1030 while tossing and turning til 2am and the next thing I know, the alarm rang at 715am.

I reached school half an hour early, there wasn't a place to report at so I headed to the IT Helpdesk office and was told to wait there. While waiting, I encounter a young adult man, probably in his 25s? He was doing a revision A-math book and needed help. So at first glance I'm like.. "Oh crap I forgot all these already", then he showed me the solution and asked me "why this one equals to 20?" and then slowly, some A-math skills came back and I managed to explain to him. He wasn't sitting for a test or anything, he was just.. revising. It puzzles me as well, so far in my life, A-math is pretty useless, why would anyone would want to just.. REVISE it? I even suspected that he was gonna give tuition LOL but he denied and just said it was purely for revision (weird eh?).

So came 9am and I was stationed at Blk 56. My first customer was a really cool looking skinny guy, I had some troubles at first coz it was my first time. The night before I thought I would be smooth but when it comes to the real thing, I was literally thinking on my feet "Eh whats next ah? How solve ah?". So I slowly figure my way out, ask a bit here and there, got the hang of it and voila! I think I've mastered 75% of it already.

All my colleagues in my room are also student helpers, there are many variety of them - short, black, skinny, big, but there are only like.. 8 guys to 2 girls. I was actually the first to come into the room. Each helper was supposed to take a row of 4 tables, there were a total of I think 5 rows and 2 columns. I was taking the second last row on the left column, just so happen that 1 girl took the 3rd last row and the other girl took the last row, so mainly my interactions are with them, my 'neighbours' rather than the other guys. I had like a total of about 10 freshies who came to row for software installation, and I think 7 of them were girls. Initially I thought it was going to become another Maris Stella class, because during my training, there were 0 female student helpers at all. I prefer a more balance mix of interaction though, the guys are more responsive to the innuendo jokes while the girls do laugh at my "high", gotta self-high when working in such an environment right?

Oh so this second female student helper at my work is just a year 2 from BS. I thought she was just an ordinary low profile person until she borrowed my laptop and "checked" her results to show her 3.9 GPA this sem, wah pro lah, can show off lor. Then out of curiosity I clicked on her CCA points page and went like "WTHWTHWTHWTHWWHTHT WHAT?!", I saw dancesport, 1st prize, CCA points for that ONE ACTIVITY OF COMPETITION GET A TOTAL OF "9" ARLS points. From then I knew she must be freaking popular already, dancesport can get first prize. Really from the first look cannot tell.

Whats even more coincidental is that she was from AMK Sec and she knows YQ too! Wow that makes +1 to knowing AMKSS belles. Yup, that means she knows YQ too! Really, I see the CCA points, 9 POINTS FOR THE ONE ACTIVITY I reallly :O:O:O Really cannot judge book by its cover.

Then coz at my comp, she showing off to me, other guys of course kaypo a bit come see, then they probably feel dam sad because when they show their GPA on my comp, is only 2.5-3 only haha. BUT THEN ANOTHER FRIGGIN GAY CCA GUY COME SHOW OFF! 180 POINTS FOR CCA WAH REALLY SIAO MAN, but that one is cumulative one through many activities, still cannot beat the 1 shot 9 points, but still crazy lah.

But at the end of the day, GPA is still priority to get a seat in University. However, with CCA points as evidence, you can add into your portfolio the relevant experiences you had.

Today is only day 1 of work. Still got 19 more working days to go! I hope I survive, I hope I can grab someone to gym after work. Actually the popular girl wanted to gym but she got meeting with her friends on Wednesday. Then another guy running after dinner to try and lose weight, I tell him come gym with me he don't want, scared "Gain mass". At least I tried to talk to them about gym right? Sigh, the saying goes "They don't care how much you know until they know how much you care". So my knowledge is pretty wasted if they don't know I care. Gotta do the first step - Care & Connect.
